The preservation of medicines is a fundamental issue that closely touches the field of medicine, the pharmacist and, of course, the users.
The function for which the drug was designed depends on its correct preservation. And it is at this point where the importance of the materials used to manufacture drug containers is understood. An inadequate material will not do a good job of preserving the substances.
In the pharmaceutical industry, the pharmaceutical plastic packaging is a crucial part, taking in consideration that medicines are also joined with different types of plastic packaging, the structure of which has to be suitable for the medicine and not to cause a chemical eruption. Such pharmaceutical plastic containers for medicines must comply with main characteristics for the packaging of medicines. Plastic is a hygienic material; it can be submitted to different processes and treatments to preserve its sterility. Its strength is another important factor, and additives can be added to its formulation to increase it. Pharmaceutical plastic packaging is unlikely to break, and therefore the possibility of cuts, accidents or contamination of the drug is also low.
Also, the plastic pharmaceutical containers and packaging in which the products are presented say much more than they appear and, on many occasions, they can become a big brand presentation card.
Pharmaceutical plastic containers have multiple functions, which can be grouped between the mainly ones and the added value they bring to the product.
We talk about useful functions when we refer to those that make it easier to interact with the product, for example:
- Contain the product
- Protecting its qualities
- Preserve the product for a longer period of time
- To transport the product more easily
There are different types of pharmaceutical plastic containers or specialized packaging for different types of medicines: Pill dispensers, liquid medicine bottles, dropper bottles, etc.
Grupo Arcoiris/Plasscon manufactures, under strict quality standards, different special Pharmaceutical plastic containers for the pharmaceutical industry, including Pill Boxes, Liquid Medicines (syup) and Droppers, complying with FDA requirements.
